Mountain View Academy was established in 2006 to offer parents an alternative to the “one size fits all” model often found in traditional mainstream schools. We follow the curriculum and term calendar set by the Western Cape Education Department, presenting content through a holistic approach.

In the Foundation Phase, our core focus is on English, Mathematics, and Life Skills, with all other learning areas integrated into this programme. In the Intermediate and Senior Phases, we continue to follow the prescribed learning areas of the Western Cape Department of Education, while incorporating alternative assessment methods when needed — ensuring a supportive and inclusive learning environment.

Each grade typically consists of an average of 10 learners, allowing for focused attention and meaningful interaction.

Where possible, we enrich learning through field trips, providing learners with hands-on experiences that reinforce the integration of academic content and real-world application.
